Our Statement of faith
This statement seeks humbly to communicate what we believe concerning our faith. We recognize that we do not have complete revelation. And while we are confident of this statement of our faith, we recognize that God could bring further and clearer understanding at some future date.
We believe that the Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is infallible, and that it is the supreme authority of all matters of faith and conduct.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit; that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.
We believe in God the Father, the infinite, personal spirit perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of all people, that He hears and answers prayer and that He gives salvation from sin and death to all who come to Him through faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutional atonement through His shed blood, bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven at the right hand of the Father, His intercession for His people and His imminent personal return in power and glory.
We believe in the Holy Spirit Who proceeds forth from the Father and Son, Jesus Christ, to reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment. He regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers all that believe in Jesus Christ. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, and that He indwells and bestows gifts to every believer in Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide enabling the Christian to live a godly life.
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and therefore, are under eternal condemnation. We believe in the forgiveness of sin and that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and kept by His power through faith. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the believer and life eternal.
We believe in the spiritual unity of His Church as a living spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and that all whom the Holy Spirit has regenerated are members. We believe the local church consists of believers in Jesus Christ who are members associated for celebration, community, edification, evangelism, prayer and stewardship.
We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well being of others; that one should be a faithful steward; and that the one should seek to realize for oneself and others the full stature of the maturity in Christ.
We believe in the personal, physical return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His Kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body and the final judgment, the everlasting blessedness of the righteous and the everlasting punishment of the unrighteous.
We believe in observing the two Ordinances of Believers Baptism by immersion and Holy Communion.
